THIS JUST IN

I wasn't aware that even if there is a particular pre-school I like and fill out the application, Quinn could be DENIED. The U of U Preschool App said ( I just started filling it out today) they choose kids based on race, parental education level, financial status and child's learning ability....WOW!

GOOD LUCK QUINN!

Attach that picture of her singing karaoke with the app -- they could NEVER deny that cuteness! Nowaynohow.

Well, I for one am voting for Montesorri. The idea of students "observing" Quinn puts me in mind of a zoo. And, while I agree that MOST pre-schools ARE zoos, the fact that they don't even try to HIDE it, annoys me. And, polishing pennies isn't so bad!!
What race do you have to be to be accepted? What about parental income/education??? Are they shooting for poor, Norwegian children with highly educated parents? rich, Hispanic children who's parents with only a high school education but they won the lottery? poor, caucasian children from Kentucky, who's parents don't have either an education or a full set of teeth???? The combinations are not only endless, but would make a very amusing board game!

I can't believe they DENY children! Talk about starting self-esteem problems YOUNG!

I vote for the knitting school...that's where I would send my kids...but I am one of those crunchy granola mamas who uses cloth diapers and sings kumbayah. Sounds like my kind of school!

I know that a lot of the preschools I looked at can deny you...even Montessori- I have a friend who was crossing her fingers for about 8 weeks hoping her little girl got into the Montessori here- I think that's just because they have a ton of parents apply...at least that's what I"m hoping

Why don't you just let Quinn chose? Are you already trying to oppress her?

Obviously she didn't get in.
